CHAINMAKING MASTERCLASS

weekend course - saturday and sunday 10am - 5pm

In this class you will cover the basic techniques that are the foundation of chain making and wire working then developing your skills to make complex links & chains. You will make different chains and links that will cover skills such as making jump rings, drawing & shaping wire, soldering, unsoldering and resoldering!!

On the saturday we will focus on types of curb chain which will result in a chain ring or bracelet. (if you choose to make a bracelet you may need to pay for extra silver depending on the weight of the chain)

On the Sunday you can cover chain patterns such as rope, loop-in-loop or spiga. This will result in a variety of samples in copper or silver.

This class is suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience already. This class is perfect to compliment other ways of making jewellery such as fabricating with sheet metal and wire.

Included in the class is silver - enough for a ring. If you choose to use more you can purchase it from as at trade price.

All day classes run from 10am - 5pm and are held at our studio in Walthamstow.  

Making jewellery can be messy so please don't wear your best clothes!  And for Health and Safety reasons please wear sturdy footwear that covers your feet - i.e. no sandles, leather boots or shoes are best.
If you need reading glasses please bring them along, as we will be working on tiny things.

If for any reason you are unable to attend one of our classes you are welcome to send someone in your place, but unfortunately we cannot offer transfers or any refunds.  On rare occasions details of Made By Ore classes or events may be changed without notice.  If these changes adversely affect a class that you have already booked, in this instance, you will be able to change to a different class or receive a refund.
